Twelve years of the cut.

Ay Stitches began as a single machine in a Lagos parlor and grew into a working atelier — and then a school. We teach the craft the way it was handed to us: slowly, by hand, with precision.

Our Story

A school built from a working atelier.

For over a decade, Ay Stitches has dressed brides, grooms and Lagos's discerning clients in garments cut and finished by hand. The academy was born from a simple frustration: talented young designers could sketch, but they couldn't construct.

So we opened the atelier doors. Students learn beside working tailors, on real machines, with real fabric — not in a classroom removed from the craft. Every technique is taught in the order a garment is actually made.

The result is a generation of designers who can carry a piece from first measurement to final fitting, and who leave with a portfolio that proves it. Over a hundred are now certified, running their own houses or leading ateliers across the city.

What We Stand On

Four pillars hold the method together.

Pattern Mastery

Every silhouette begins on paper. Students draft, grade and manipulate blocks until proportion is second nature.

Hands-On Practice

No lectures, no slides. You learn at the machine and on the form — building real garments from the first week.

Industry Mentorship

Instruction comes from working designers and tailors who shape your eye, your hand and your client sense.

Certification

Graduate with a portfolio and a credential that opens doors across Lagos's bridal and couture houses.

Leadership

The hands that run the house.

The atelier is guided by two people who carry the craft and the classroom with equal care.
